Sub: Providing V-SAT connectivity in connection with COIS and CMS.

1. FOIS Organisation has requested for providing V-SAT connectivity at certain location as per details enclosed in connection with COIS and CMS implementation. During discussion with some Railways it has been found that some of the Railways has already commissioned these locations through existing OFC/ Copper cable connectivity. Similarly on other Railways also, connectivity may be available up to some of these locations already, most of these being major stations.

2. Your are, therefore, requested to examine immediately as to at which of the on your Railway, V-SAT connectivity is essential so that IRPMU could be asked to take up the works of providing V-SAT on priority. It is to be incidentally also mentioned here in that all V-SAT locations being commissioned now will have to be maintained by S&T Deptt. of the Railways.

3. Since matter is to be decided on top most priority, information may please be sent by 25/09/2006.
